Ares - Kel-Tec RDB17 Bullpup AEG Airsoft Rifle in Tan (AR-069E)
If you’re after a compact rifle with full-length performance, the Ares Kel-Tec RDB17 Bullpup AEG delivers in spades. Fully licensed by Kel-Tec and styled after the real steel RDB platform, this is an airsoft rifle that combines modern aesthetics with real battlefield punch — and it does it in a tight, balanced bullpup form that’s perfect for fast-paced urban skirmishing and close-quarter combat.
At just 695mm long, it’s shorter than most carbines, but hidden inside is a full-length 420mm inner barrel — offering DMR-level precision in a body that feels like a CQB primary. That’s the power of the bullpup layout: you keep the reach without the length. The externals mix steel and aluminium with high-density polymer, all wrapped in a clean tan finish that adds to its futuristic, mission-ready vibe. It’s rock-solid and perfectly balanced right at your firing hand, thanks to the rear-weighted design and rubber buttplate.
Inside, Ares hasn’t held back. The proprietary EFCS gearbox system comes with a built-in MOSFET and electronic trigger unit — delivering crisp, responsive cycling and eliminating the usual “bullpup trigger lag.” No long rods here. You get a sharp, instantaneous feel whether you’re in semi or full-auto. Need to change FPS for an indoor game? No problem — the spring can be swapped through the rear of the rifle without opening the gearbox.
There’s a 14mm CCW threaded outer barrel up front, perfect for mounting suppressors or tracer units, and the full-length top rail gives you all the room you need for optics and backup sights. Five sling points scattered across the body mean you can run this rifle however you like — two-point, single-point, ambidextrous — you name it. And since this thing ejects spent shells downward in the real world, the airsoft version follows suit: no shells flying into your face, ever.
Accessing the hop-up is simple: pop the mag out and you’ll find a rotary unit inside the mag well. A handy adjustment tool is tucked into the pistol grip, so you’re never left scrambling. Battery storage is inside the handguard, secured by a steel locking pin — plenty of space for a 7.4v LiPo, and Deans connectors come as standard.
It comes with two magazines — a full-length 130-round mid-cap and a compact 100-round shorty — both compatible with standard AR15/M4 AEG mags. That means you can run this gun with your existing loadout without hunting down proprietary mags, making it even more skirmish-friendly.
The RDB17 isn’t a “bullpup novelty.” It’s a proper skirmish-ready rifle with the tech, balance, and build to back it up. Whether you're a CQB regular or just want something that breaks the M4 mould, this is a sleek, powerful option that’ll keep up with any playstyle. If you find it for less, don’t forget — we’ll beat the price.
