H&K MP5K Full Metal AEG SMG Airsoft Rifle with Eshooter ETU GEN-2 in Black (CM041K)

The H&K MP5K Full Metal AEG SMG Airsoft Rifle with Eshooter ETU GEN-2 in Black (CM041K) takes the legendary MP5 platform and squeezes it into one of the most compact configurations in the entire family. Manufactured by Cyma under official Umarex and Heckler & Koch licence, this electric airsoft submachine gun combines the classic stockless MP5K Kurz design with a sturdy metal receiver, integrated vertical foregrip and modern electronic trigger system. It's a cracking little airsoft gun for players who enjoy fast-paced CQB games, where bulky rifles and long stocks can become a nuisance. The traditional H&K styling remains beautifully intact, complete with authentic trademarks and the unmistakable MP5K front end. Underneath that old-school exterior, however, sits an Eshooter ETU Gen-2 electronic trigger unit and upgraded gearbox components. Compact dimensions, proper metal MP5 character and some rather clever electronics. What's not to like?

Starting at the front, the Cyma CM041K features the distinctive MP5K short muzzle arrangement and integrated vertical foregrip, immediately separating it from the larger MP5A4 and MP5A5 models. The Kurz configuration was designed around keeping the overall platform extremely compact, and that character carries over brilliantly to this Airsoft AEG. There's no extended handguard or lengthy outer barrel sticking out ahead of the receiver, making the MP5K particularly comfortable to manoeuvre around indoor obstacles and tight spaces. The front sight and muzzle cap arrangement can also be removed to accommodate compatible MP5K muzzle adapters, opening up possibilities for fitting suitable tracer units or mock suppressors. Unlike conventional AEG rifles with exposed 14mm CCW barrel threading, the MP5K uses a more specialised front-end arrangement, so checking adapter compatibility before purchasing additional muzzle accessories is important.

One of the most recognisable features of the H&K MP5K is its integrated vertical foregrip, positioned directly beneath the short front assembly. Rather than fitting a separate grip onto an accessory rail, the CM041K retains the traditional MP5K-style foregrip as part of its compact front-end design. This gives your support hand a consistent gripping position while helping keep it comfortably behind the muzzle. It's particularly useful when moving between targets during close-quarter airsoft games, where maintaining control of a short, stockless airsoft gun makes a noticeable difference. The vertical grip also adds to the MP5K's unmistakable appearance. There's something wonderfully purposeful about the arrangement, with everything kept close to the receiver and very little unnecessary furniture getting in the way. It's a refreshingly straightforward design compared with modern airsoft rifles covered in rails, extensions and accessories.

Moving back towards the receiver, you'll find a metal alloy upper body and metal cocking tube assembly, giving the Cyma MP5K CM041K a reassuringly substantial feel despite its compact proportions. The lower receiver and pistol grip frame are made from impact-resistant polymer, following the familiar combination of materials associated with the original MP5 platform. This keeps the grip comfortable while allowing the metal upper receiver to provide the solid construction MP5 enthusiasts appreciate. Official Heckler & Koch trademarks complete the exterior, making this licensed replica considerably more convincing than a generic MP5-style BB gun. The familiar charging handle and receiver profile retain that classic H&K character, and the black finish ties everything together nicely. Pick up a compact metal-bodied MP5K and you'll quickly appreciate why this particular submachine gun design has remained so popular with airsoft players over the years.

At the rear, the CM041K uses the traditional stockless Kurz configuration, replacing the fixed or retractable shoulder stock found on larger MP5 variants with a compact rear end plate. This makes the overall airsoft gun considerably shorter and easier to carry in confined environments. A sturdy sling swivel loop is fitted to the rear plate, providing a convenient attachment point for a suitable single-point sling. It's a useful arrangement for players who prefer keeping their airsoft SMG close to the body while moving around a skirmish site. The lack of a shoulder stock does mean you'll need to develop a slightly different shooting technique compared with a conventional airsoft rifle, but that's part of the MP5K experience. With the integrated foregrip providing support at the front and the pistol grip controlling the rear, the compact layout feels particularly suited to short-range engagements and quick changes of direction.

Inside the CM041K is where Cyma has made one of the biggest improvements over traditional MP5K Airsoft AEG designs. The factory-installed Eshooter ETU Gen-2 electronic trigger unit replaces conventional mechanical trigger contacts with a modern electronic control system. This provides complete gearbox cycle detection, helping the mechanism complete each firing cycle consistently while improving trigger responsiveness. For players who regularly attend indoor CQB sites, where semi-automatic fire is often mandatory, this is a particularly welcome feature. A responsive trigger makes controlled follow-up shots feel smoother, without the sluggish electrical switching sometimes associated with older AEG systems. The electronic arrangement also avoids the traditional contact arcing found in mechanical trigger switches. It's a substantial improvement hidden inside a very familiar-looking MP5K body, giving the airsoft gun a more contemporary shooting character without sacrificing its classic appearance.

The Eshooter ETU Gen-2 also includes programmable firing options, including supported three-round burst configurations, allowing players to customise the firing behaviour to suit their preferred setup and site regulations. Electronic pre-cocking can position the gearbox mechanism ready for the next shot, reducing the delay between pulling the trigger and firing. Active braking helps bring the motor to a controlled stop after each cycle, reducing unwanted over-spin and helping maintain consistent gearbox operation. There's also low-voltage protection designed to help prevent compatible LiPo batteries from being drained excessively during use. These features are particularly useful in a compact CQB-focused airsoft submachine gun, where controlled semi-automatic shooting and consistent cycling are often more valuable than chasing an enormous full-auto firing rate. As always, follow the ETU manufacturer's programming instructions and check battery compatibility before changing electronic settings.

Supporting the electronic trigger system is Cyma's upgraded gearbox arrangement, featuring high-speed steel gears, steel bushings and a high-torque neodymium motor. The steel gear set provides a durable mechanical foundation for repeated firing cycles, while the steel bushings support the rotating gear shafts inside the gearbox. Meanwhile, the high-torque motor supplies the turning force needed to operate the spring and piston assembly, working alongside the ETU to deliver responsive gearbox cycling. It's a sensible combination for an airsoft SMG that places so much emphasis on compact handling and quick semi-automatic operation. Despite its small external dimensions, the CM041K retains the familiar mechanical principles of a conventional electric airsoft rifle. That means experienced airsoft technicians will recognise much of the internal operating system, although replacement components should always be checked for compatibility with the MP5K's particular gearbox configuration and electronic trigger unit.

Magazine compatibility is another welcome feature, with the H&K MP5K CM041K accepting compatible Tokyo Marui-spec MP5 AEG magazines. Standard curved mid-cap and high-cap magazines can be used, along with compatible short MP5 magazines, including compact 28-round flush-style designs. Those shorter magazines suit the tiny MP5K proportions particularly well, giving the whole airsoft gun an almost pocket-sized appearance compared with a conventional assault rifle. Well, pocket-sized by airsoft standards anyway! Longer magazines provide additional ammunition capacity for extended skirmishes, while short magazines help maintain the compact profile that makes the Kurz so distinctive. This flexibility is especially handy if you already own another MP5 Airsoft AEG, as compatible magazines may be shared between platforms. Just remember to check individual magazine fitment and feeding, as tolerances can vary between manufacturers.

Overall, the Cyma H&K MP5K CM041K is an excellent choice for airsoft players who appreciate the classic MP5 design but want something exceptionally compact and easy to manoeuvre. The stockless body, integrated vertical foregrip and rear sling loop make it particularly appealing for indoor CQB games, close-quarter skirmishes and compact secondary AEG setups. Meanwhile, the metal receiver, authentic H&K markings and familiar MP5 controls give it the convincing appearance enthusiasts expect from an officially licensed replica. Add the Eshooter ETU Gen-2, programmable firing modes, electronic pre-cocking and reinforced internal components, and you've got a little airsoft submachine gun with considerably more going on inside than its retro appearance suggests. It won't provide the shoulder support of a full-sized MP5A4, but that's rather missing the point. The MP5K is all about keeping things short, manageable and entertaining. Small package, plenty of personality and a modern electronic heart to match.
