Description

S&T Lee Enfield SMLE No. 1 Mk III Spring Powered Airsoft Rifle in Real Wood

Now here’s something that oozes old-school charm and battlefield grit—the S&T Lee Enfield SMLE No. 1 Mk III Spring Powered Airsoft Rifle in Real Wood. A faithful nod to the legendary British bolt-action rifle that saw service across two world wars, this airsoft version captures the soul of the original with an attention to detail that’s honestly impressive.

From the moment you shoulder this rifle, you feel the heft—coming in at around 3.5kg, it’s not far off the real steel version. That weight isn’t just for show; it gives the rifle a realistic feel, helping immerse you in period reenactment or milsim scenarios. Built with a real wood stock and iron cylinder, plus a metal receiver, bolt, and barrel assembly, this airsoft rifle walks the walk when it comes to authenticity.

What really stands out is the sheer level of detail in the design. The square cocking piece, typical of the later SMLE rifles, is present and adds a layer of realism. Look closely at the neck and you’ll spot those classic stamped markings—a Crown, G.R. (for Georgius Rex), and the model designation “Sht LE MkIII*.” That last bit signifies the MkIII updated configuration, just like on the original rifles modified to fire smokeless powder. Even the chamber has a serial number engraving to sell the realism further.

Interestingly, there’s no manufacturer’s mark, which might seem odd at first, but it’s actually true to certain SMLEs built from subcontracted parts at Enfield Lock. That’s the level of attention we’re talking about here—it’s the sort of detail airsoft collectors and history buffs go wild for.

Period-correct flathead screws are used throughout, with just a few unavoidable modern additions (like small hidden screws for airsoft internals). The nose cap fitting is slightly different from the original, but that’s a minor trade-off. The brushed black oxide finish on the metal gives it that nice, battle-worn look—not shiny and new, but like it’s seen some action. The wood stock has a dark, grainy character that really sells the vintage aesthetic. It’s a lovely bit of kit to look at and to hold.

The hop-up adjustment is tucked beneath the rear sight protector, cleverly hidden to preserve the rifle’s authentic silhouette. Speaking of the rear sight—it’s beautifully done. Fully adjustable for windage, with a screw-based system for fine-tuning the V-notch left or right, and elevation adjustment handled with a sliding ramp. It’s not just for show; this thing is functional. You won’t find volley sights here, but that’s period accurate for this later model.

The steel magazine sits snugly in place and ejects via a catch inside the trigger guard—again, just like the real deal. The butt plate mimics brass and has a trapdoor compartment for storage. In the original, that was for a cleaning kit; in airsoft, well… maybe some extra BBs, a rag, or a cheeky stash of sweets for those long match days.

All told, the S&T Lee Enfield SMLE No. 1 Mk III is a standout spring-powered airsoft rifle that brings history to life. It’s single-shot only—true to form—but that’s part of the appeal. If you’re into reenactment, historical skirmish events, or just love a beautifully detailed collector’s piece, this one is hard to beat. It’s got class, character, and a trigger pull that takes you straight back to a different era.
