Description

CYMA CM031B AK105 Carbine AEG Airsoft Rifle with Fixed Stock in Black

The CYMA CM031B AK105 Carbine AEG Airsoft Rifle with Fixed Stock in Black is a compact AK-style Airsoft AEG with a practical mixture of metal and polymer construction. Based on the shortened AK-105 carbine, it gives you that unmistakable modern AK profile without the extra length associated with a full-sized AK-74. At approximately 855mm long and weighing around 3.30kg, the CM031B still feels substantial in the hands. It's not some featherweight plastic carbine. Pick it up and there's enough heft to remind you that you're carrying a proper skirmish airsoft rifle.

Starting at the front, CYMA uses a metal outer barrel along with a metal gas tube assembly and adjustable iron sights. The shorter carbine proportions are where the AK-105 design really comes into its own, keeping the front end relatively manageable when you're moving through woodland, buildings or barricades. The handguard is polymer, matching the practical construction found across much of the rifle. There's no attempt to turn it into a rail-covered space blaster either. The CM031B retains that clean AK appearance, which will suit players who prefer traditional Russian-inspired kit.

The receiver area continues the mixture of materials, with a polymer main body accompanied by a metal dust cover, trigger guard, sling fittings and other smaller external components. The magazine is polymer too and follows the familiar curved AK pattern. There's something pleasantly uncomplicated about handling this airsoft gun. The controls are where you'd expect them, the sights are straightforward and the whole rifle has the chunky, mechanical personality that makes AK replicas so much fun. No tiny switches hidden all over the place. Just grab it and get on with the game.

At the rear you'll find one of the more practical differences between this CM031B and many AK-105 replicas: a fixed stock. While a folding stock gives you a shorter package for transportation and CQB, the fixed design provides considerably more internal room for the battery. That extra battery space can make day-to-day ownership easier, particularly if you're not interested in squeezing battery packs into tiny compartments every time you gear up. It also provides a solid, consistent shoulder position, which I tend to appreciate during longer woodland games when you're spending plenty of time behind the sights.

Inside the CM031B is CYMA's metal Version 3 gearbox, a gearbox format well established in AK Airsoft AEG designs. The supplied specification includes high-quality steel gears, 7mm metal bushings, an M120 spring, reinforced cylinder head and vacuum-style piston head. A short-type torque motor drives the system. It's a reassuring specification for a general-purpose electric airsoft rifle, and the Version 3 gearbox layout has long been a familiar sight to technicians who work on AK-pattern AEGs.

Performance is quoted by the manufacturer at approximately 335 FPS, although the supplied information notes test results around 375 FPS. Actual velocity can vary between individual replicas, ammunition and chronograph setups, so it's sensible to chrono the rifle before taking it into a skirmish. CYMA lists an approximate range of up to 60 metres, while the adjustable hop-up lets you tune BB backspin to suit your ammunition. Recommended BB weights are approximately 0.20g to 0.25g. Get that hop set properly and the CM031B can make a very enjoyable woodland carbine.

The rifle offers safe, semi-automatic and full-automatic firing modes, so it has the versatility expected from an AK assault rifle style Airsoft AEG. Feeding comes from a 500-round wind-up high-cap magazine. Five hundred rounds gives you plenty to play with, especially if you enjoy full-auto where site rules allow it. Semi-auto is there for more controlled shooting and ammunition conservation, then you've got full-auto ready when things get noisy. Sometimes that's exactly what you bought an AK for.

Battery power uses a Mini Tamiya connection, and the package includes an 8.4V 1200mAh rechargeable battery and charger. The supplied specifications also list Mini-type 9.6V batteries as a recommended option. Thanks to that fixed stock, there's useful space available for the power setup without the cramped battery installation found on some compact AK replicas. A tactical sling and cleaning rod are included as well, making the package reasonably complete for somebody putting together their first electric AK airsoft gun.

The CYMA CM031B ultimately makes sense for players who want a straightforward AK105-style airsoft rifle with useful magazine capacity, adjustable hop-up and dependable AEG internals. Its 855mm carbine length gives it a handier profile than a full-sized AK, while the fixed stock trades maximum compactness for comfortable shouldering and useful battery space. Add the metal Version 3 gearbox, steel gears, 500-round high-cap and classic black AK furniture, and you've got a practical assault rifle style Airsoft AEG with plenty of character. Simple, chunky and ready for skirmishing – very AK, really.
