Want more control over how your AEG actually feels and responds? The E-Shooter Kestrel V2 Wireless Electronic Trigger Unit is a seriously configurable upgrade designed for Tokyo Marui-spec V2 AEG gearboxes. Instead of relying on a conventional trigger switch setup, the Kestrel combines an ETU with MOSFET-based power routing, giving airsoft players and technicians much finer control over trigger response, firing behaviour and gearbox performance.

One of its biggest tricks is Bluetooth connectivity through the E-Shooter app. This lets you adjust key settings without repeatedly opening up your airsoft rifle. The five-sensor trigger detection system provides adjustable trigger sensitivity, while pre-cocking can be fine-tuned across 100 levels. That amount of adjustment is particularly useful when matching the ETU to a specific combination of motor, gears, spring and battery rather than simply cranking everything up and hoping for the best.

There's plenty to play with when it comes to fire control too. Available selector and firing options include SAFE, SEMI, BINARY, BURST, AUG, AUTO and Sniper modes, while magazine simulation can be programmed between 30 and 100 shots. Adjustable ROF lets you control the rate of fire, and active braking helps manage piston positioning after each cycle. Binary mode can fire on both trigger pull and release, although you'll want to check your airsoft site's rules before using it.

The Kestrel V2 is also built with more demanding AEG configurations in mind. Cycle detection supports standard, HSG and DSG gear setups, with compatibility for high-torque and brushless motors. Battery protection, low-voltage monitoring, smart fuse functionality, locked-rotor protection and a battery-saving sleep mode provide additional safeguards. It supports LiPo, LiFe and LiHV batteries, while OTA firmware updates allow compatible updates to be handled through the app.

Despite packing in all that functionality, the unit measures only 47.4 x 28.7 x 13.5mm and weighs approximately 27.6g. It won't magically turn a poorly built gearbox into a perfect one, and aggressive settings such as heavy pre-cocking or active braking should be tuned sensibly. For experienced airsoft technicians and players building a responsive CQB, mil-sim or competition AEG, though, the E-Shooter Kestrel V2 offers an impressive amount of control in a compact package. Installation requires suitable gearbox knowledge, so always confirm compatibility with your particular V2 setup before fitting.
