JG Works Full Metal M240 Medium Support Airsoft AEG Machine Gun with Metal Bipod in Black

The JG Works Full Metal M240 Medium Support Airsoft AEG Machine Gun is a seriously imposing piece of kit, based on one of the most recognisable general-purpose machine guns in modern military service. Jing Gong has gone big with this one, producing a 1255mm-long support airsoft gun with extensive metal construction, a folding metal bipod and the sort of physical presence that makes an ordinary assault rifle feel rather compact by comparison. Finished in black and weighing firmly into support-gun territory, the M240 is aimed at players who want to take on the gunner role properly rather than simply carrying another carbine with a large magazine.

Starting at the front, you get a large metal flash hider leading into a substantial outer barrel assembly. One of the particularly satisfying features is the quick-change style outer barrel, which follows the operating concept of the real M240 and adds another layer of realism to the replica. There is also a movable barrel carrying handle and removable metal heat shield. The inner barrel measures approximately 555mm, giving this Airsoft AEG plenty of barrel length to work with, while the adjustable hop-up lets you tune the flight of your chosen 6mm BBs for better performance at typical woodland and outdoor engagement distances.

Underneath sits the folding metal bipod, and on a machine gun this size it earns its keep. Deploy it behind cover and the M240 immediately feels at home, giving you a stable platform for sustained full-auto firing. Folded away, the bipod can be secured beneath the railed handguard using the bipod lock, keeping everything tidy when you're moving between positions. The metal rail handguard also provides useful 20mm mounting space for compatible airsoft accessories. It's a practical arrangement rather than decoration for decoration's sake.

Move further back and you'll find adjustable front and rear sights, plus a standard 20mm top rail positioned along the top cover for fitting compatible optics. A red dot or suitable machine-gun optic can make the M240 particularly enjoyable when you're watching a lane from a supported position. There's also a movable dummy charging handle, another small detail that gives the replica some mechanical character. Full metal construction across the major external sections provides the cold, solid feel you'd expect from a support airsoft rifle of this type, while polymer is sensibly used for the removable rear stock.

Firepower is where the JG Works M240 really starts behaving like a proper support Airsoft AEG. It operates in safety and full-auto modes and is supplied with a huge approximately 4,500-round electric auto-winding box magazine. That's the important bit for a machine gunner. Instead of constantly stopping to change conventional magazines, you've got a substantial BB supply ready for suppressive firing and covering teammates as they move. Ever spent half a game watching a doorway while your squad pushes forward? Yeah, this is exactly the sort of airsoft machine gun that makes that job rather entertaining.

The quoted muzzle velocity is approximately 420 FPS, so this is a high-power airsoft gun and buyers should check their site's current velocity and energy limits before using it in a game. The adjustable hop-up gives you control over BB trajectory, but ammunition weight, hop setting and individual chronograph readings can all affect practical performance. With a long support gun like the M240, its natural environment is generally an outdoor field where its size, magazine capacity and sustained full-auto capability can actually stretch their legs.

Battery storage is housed inside the removable polymer rear stock, which accepts up to a 9.6V large-type battery using a large plug. The battery and charger are not included, so you'll need to source compatible power equipment separately. Having the battery in the stock keeps the setup relatively straightforward and avoids hanging external battery pouches around the gun. Once shouldered, though, don't expect featherweight carbine handling. At 1255mm long, this is a substantial machine gun replica. Carrying one around all day is part airsoft, part gym membership, but once you're settled behind the bipod it makes considerably more sense.

For players building a support gunner, US military or modern machine-gunner loadout, the JG Works M240 offers an appealing mixture of realistic details and useful skirmish features. The metal flash hider, quick-change style barrel assembly, heat shield, carrying handle, adjustable sights, accessory rails and folding bipod give the exterior plenty to explore, while the electric 4,500-round magazine provides the ammunition capacity expected from a dedicated support platform. Big, unapologetically heavy-duty and designed around full-auto fire, this M240 Airsoft AEG is the sort of replica that changes how you play the moment you walk onto the field with it.
