The CM005 is based off what appears to be an M4 CQBR, a shorter and more compact version of the classic m4.
The CQBR version of the M4 is designed to be used inside vehicles, by bodyguards, or by special forces teams
boarding ships and breaching buildings. The CQBR uses the exact same lower receiver as any military M4 would,
and the actual "CQBR" comes as a separate upper receiver that attached to a donor lower - this allows
special forces troops to retain their own weapons and simply customise them based on the current situation.
The weapon was designed in 1999, and was introduced in 2000 - there are currently over 10,000 CQBR M4's
in service with the various armed forces. A full weapon package is available known as the MK18.Mod0, this
included a lower receiver with the CQBR upper section and is typically what is issued to most soldiers rather
than just the upper.
This replica is one of the nicer M4's available for the entry to mid level player and makes a fantastic starting
platform for someone after a reliable and upgradable CQB weapon. Because CYMA offer such good brand compatibility
this rifle will accept any off the shelf upgrades, such as internal parts ranging from pistons to triggers, and externals
such as aftermarket barrels and furniture. M4's are sometimes considered boring within the world of airsoft as everyone
has either owned one or used on at some point in their time as a player, however this immense popularity means there
are more modifications available for airsoft M4's than any other weapon on the market!
CYMA's higher end weapons (such as this) are made from very good materials, the bodies are totally solid and have no
wobble or give, with the furniture feeling incredibly comfortable (and sturdy). This rifle comes with a slightly unique frontal
RIS section - it looks similar to any normal M4A1 railed handguard but comes with a "clamp" that secures the rail to the
upper receiver to prevent any sideways wobble - this means you can fit a vertical grip (or similar) and run around with this
rifle all day without the issue of accidently loosening your handguard!
In terms of accuracy this weapon MORE than fits the requirements for a CQB or scouting rifle, it is capable of hitting a
man sized target at around 30ft, however should you wish to use rifle for very long range field engagements it
might be wise to invest in a better hop up rubber - simply because the weapon is not MADE for precise accuracy at range
with the shorter barrel.
All in all this is a great weapon for CQB, or as a lightweight scout weapon for field combat - the small profile allows you to
run around woodlands and traverse obstacles without worrying about knocking your weapon, it also allows you to move
very quickly from target to target when hiding in a tree as the barrel will not catch on the branches (for example!)
