This is a accurate replica of the AK-101 Assault rifle, a modern Kalashnikov the 101 was designed in 1995 as
an export model for the world market, chambered in the readily available NATO 5.56x45 this rifle is marketed
as a blend between the rugged and proven reliability of the Kalashnikov and the general appeal of having a
weapon chambered in the *almost* universally standard 5.56. The weapon operates similar to any AK having
single shot and fully automatic fire capabilities, and is compatible with most AK-74 scopes/sights mounted on
the AK-style rail on the side of the receiver.
As with most of CYMA's higher end weapons the 031C is full metal, this is one of the older CYMA models and as
such is not going to be as amazing as some of the newer rifles (0.45C+) The actual build quality of all CYMA AK's
is fantastically high making them incredibly popular on the airsoft battlefield, they are some of the best built,
most reliable and most versatile AK's available for the entry level price range. This model features a full metal
construction with polymer furniture up front, the AK101 style handguard is incredibly comfortable to hold
and gives you as the shooter a great grip on the weapon when shooting. Everything is put together very well,
with the barrel and other key components being solid enough to hold the weapon by! some models DO have
a bit of wobble in the upper handguard but this can easily be fixed by applying some tape to the underside of
the end of the handguard.
While this rifles comes with a 600 Round Mid-Cap, it will accept 99% of the Dboys magazines, ALL CYMA magazines,
and most other AK manufacturer magazines with no issues - AK's are typically not as commonly customised as M4's
but a simple way to change the appearance of your rifle is to change the magazine, this weapon with a 7.62 style
waffle magazine will instantly become a unique weapon that does not exist in the real world - after all, this is just a
sport and ultimately a game, so why should you be forced to stick to the style of magazine that is intended for the
weapon! The flash hider is removable and will first expose an AK style (possibly 22mm, if my memory is right) thread
allowing for you to attach flash hiders from other CYMA AK models, once this adapter is removed by unscrewing the
grub screw it will expose a standard 14mm CCW thread that is accepting of any conventional flash hider or suppressor.
These really are great weapons, my current main skirmish rifle is a CYMA Beta Project AK, and having owned a number
of other CYMA AK's in my time as an airsofter I can safely say with experience that they are great platforms to build up on,
one of the only modifications a CYMA benefits from is a new hop up rubber, once this simple (and cheap) modification is
done they are able to stand toe to toe with any rifle on the field, yes their fire rate is a little slow, but when they are as
reliable and hardy as you would expect from an AK, who cares!
All in all, a great platform to use for anyone just starting out in the world of "proper" skirmishin
