Description.

The Double Eagle M924 DMP-9 SMG is the sort of airsoft gun that makes immediate sense when you step into a tight CQB site. It is short, easy to shoulder and doesn't leave you wrestling a long front end around door frames. Better still, the side-folding stock can shrink the platform down further when space gets properly cramped. If you have been looking for a modern sub machine gun rather than another full-length Rifle, the M924 offers a noticeably different handling experience. It has the compact dimensions of an SMG while retaining the familiar controls and internal layout that many Airsoft AEG users already know.

Finished in black, the DMP-9 has a purposeful modern appearance without going overboard with decorative bits. More importantly, its compact proportions have a practical benefit. In buildings, stairwells and narrow corridors, a few inches of extra barrel and handguard can feel like carrying a broom handle through a cupboard. The M924 avoids that problem. Fold the stock and the package becomes particularly handy for moving through very confined areas or storing the gun between games. Extend the stock again and you have a more conventional shoulder position for longer shots.

The big talking point is hidden inside. Double Eagle has fitted this version with the Eshooter Falcon V2 ETU, giving the M924 electronic trigger control rather than relying solely on the basic mechanical trigger arrangement found in many traditional AEGs. For the player, that means useful programmable options including pre-cocking, three-round burst and binary trigger functionality. This isn't technology added merely to make the spec sheet longer; these settings can genuinely change how the gun feels during a game.

Pre-cocking is particularly useful if you favour semi-auto and want a snappier response when you pull the trigger. Instead of waiting for the gearbox to cycle from rest every time, the system can prepare the mechanism for the next shot. The result is a more immediate feel at the trigger. Three-round burst gives you another useful option where site rules permit it, sitting neatly between single-shot fire and holding down full auto. Binary mode changes the trigger behaviour again, with the ETU providing an additional firing option for players who want a very responsive setup.

The Falcon V2 ETU also provides cycle completion and a low-battery warning. Those are less glamorous features, perhaps, but they are exactly the sort of details experienced airsofters tend to appreciate after living with an AEG for a while. Cycle control helps reduce the chance of an incomplete gearbox cycle causing an annoying lock-up, while the battery warning indicates when your LiPo is getting low rather than leaving you to guess.

Underneath the electronics sits a familiar Version 2 gearbox. Double Eagle has paired it with 18:1 steel gears running on 8mm bearings. An 18:1 gear set is a sensible general-purpose ratio, balancing trigger response and dependable operation rather than chasing an extreme high-speed build. For someone who wants a capable Airsoft AEG straight from the box, that makes plenty of sense. You get modern electronic control without the rest of the gearbox becoming unnecessarily exotic.

Moving forward, the M924 uses a 6.04mm tightbore inner barrel. A tightbore barrel helps maintain consistency as each BB travels down the barrel, although, as any regular player will tell you, barrel diameter is only one part of the accuracy equation. Good ammunition, hop setup and a clean barrel still matter. Feed this BB gun decent-quality BBs and keep the barrel maintained, and the 6.04mm setup gives the gun a solid foundation for consistent shooting both inside CQB ranges and when a game moves into more open ground.

The front end is surrounded by a slim M-LOK handguard. This is a much tidier solution than covering every surface with chunky Picatinny rail. You can mount compatible accessories where you actually need them and leave the remaining handguard smooth and comfortable to grip. A compact weapon light or low-profile foregrip would suit the DMP-9's CQB character particularly well. On top, an extended 20mm Picatinny rail makes it straightforward to fit a compatible red dot or other airsoft optic.

You are not forced to add an optic immediately, either. The supplied flip-up sights provide a usable aiming setup straight from the box and can be adjusted for windage and elevation. Fold them down when running an optic, or keep them available as backup sights. Simple, useful and no drawer full of spare parts required before the first skirmish.

At the muzzle, the M924 uses the common 14mm CCW thread. That matters because 14mm counter-clockwise threading is widely used across airsoft accessories. It opens the door to compatible tracer units and suppressor-style accessories without forcing you into an obscure proprietary mounting system. For indoor night games, where seeing your BB flight can be genuinely useful, adding a compatible tracer unit makes a lot of sense.

The controls have also received proper attention. The fire selector, magazine release and bolt catch are ambidextrous, so left-handed players are not treated as an afterthought. Right-handed players benefit too. When you swap shoulders to work around the opposite side of cover, being able to reach the important controls from either side keeps handling natural. The textured pistol grip adds a secure contact point and suits the platform's compact, manoeuvrable nature.

The side-folding stock deserves another mention because it changes the character of the gun more than you might expect. With the stock deployed, the DMP-9 handles like a compact airsoft rifle and gives you a stable shoulder position. Fold it alongside the receiver and suddenly the whole setup becomes much easier to manipulate in very tight spaces. That flexibility also makes the M924 convenient to transport. No need for a case the length of a small canoe just to carry your primary to a CQB evening.

Overall, the Double Eagle M924 DMP-9 is an interesting option for players who want an electric SMG with more going on internally than a basic entry-level AEG. Its appeal comes from the combination rather than one headline feature: compact dimensions, folding stock, M-LOK furniture, ambidextrous controls, 14mm CCW threading, a 6.04mm inner barrel and, importantly, the programmable Eshooter Falcon V2 ETU. It should feel familiar enough to anyone who has used an AEG before, but the electronic trigger functions give you plenty to experiment with as you settle on your preferred setup.

For CQB players in particular, that combination is hard to ignore. The M924 is short where it needs to be, configurable where it matters and based around recognisable Version 2 gearbox architecture. Whether you want a compact primary, a manoeuvrable indoor Airsoft AEG or simply something different from the usual M4-shaped assault rifle, the DMP-9 brings some genuinely useful features to the table without drowning the platform in unnecessary extras.
