There's more metal moving around, more weight in your holster and a distinctly old-school character underneath the modern rail and sights. That's part of the appeal. The 220mm overall length gives you a proper full-size sidearm, while the approximately 135mm height provides plenty of grip to establish a stable firing position. During CQB, the crisp semi-auto operation and easy-to-read sights make follow-up shots straightforward, while outdoors the adjustable hop gives you room to tune the pistol for more consistent BB flight.

There are useful practical touches elsewhere too. A lanyard loop provides another retention option for players who want extra security during woodland games or more physical scenarios, and the combination of front and rear slide serrations makes administrative handling pleasantly easy. The tan finish also works especially well on this particular design; rather than looking like a standard 1911 with a rail bolted underneath, the colour and modern frame give the M45A1 its own identity.
