CYMA CM070 - MK18 Airsoft Rifle with Built in Silencer in Black
The CYMA CM070 MK18 Airsoft Rifle with Built in Silencer in Black is a compact AR-style Airsoft AEG that combines plenty of metal construction with a short front end and modern tactical furniture. At approximately 780mm long and weighing around 2.7kg, it has enough substance to feel convincing in the hands without becoming cumbersome during a full day's skirmishing. The upper and lower receivers are aluminium, as are the stock tube, outer barrel and a number of the smaller controls. Add the black finish and integrated silencer-style front end and you've got a purposeful-looking airsoft rifle that sits somewhere between a compact assault rifle and a CQB-focused carbine.
Starting at the muzzle, the CM070 uses a 7.5-inch outer barrel with a 14mm counter-clockwise thread. The silencer-style setup gives the rifle that tucked-in, suppressed appearance that works particularly well with the longer handguard surrounding the short barrel. Underneath, CYMA fits a 290mm inner barrel with a 6.08mm internal diameter. The rifle also uses an adjustable hop-up system, allowing you to tune the flight of your 6mm BBs. CYMA lists 0.20g and 0.25g ammunition as suitable options, with 0.25g BBs making plenty of sense when you're looking for a little more stability outdoors.
Surrounding the barrel is a 10-inch aluminium handguard fitted with Picatinny rail sections, giving you plenty of room for compatible airsoft accessories. The top rail flows neatly into the A3 flat-top aluminium upper receiver, creating useful mounting space for optics. Folding front and rear sights are included too, so the rifle can be used with its mechanical sights or paired with a compatible red dot or other optic. There's a nice balance here: enough rail space to personalise the rifle properly, but the overall package still feels compact rather than like you're carrying a garden fence covered in accessories.
Move back to the receiver and the CM070 continues to feel pleasantly solid. Both the upper and lower receivers are aluminium, while controls including the fire selector, magazine release, trigger and charging handle also use metal construction. Each rifle features laser markings on the lower receiver along with an individual serial number. CYMA has also included an enhanced trigger guard, custom safety selector, ambidextrous magazine release and ambidextrous sling mounting plate. Those details make the airsoft gun friendlier to different setups and shooting positions, especially when transitioning shoulders around cover.
The rear end uses an adjustable six-position stock fitted to an aluminium stock tube, giving you a decent amount of adjustment for body size, clothing and plate carriers. Shorten it when you're working through tighter spaces, extend it when you want a more planted shooting position. The pistol grip is polymer, which is perfectly sensible and keeps unnecessary weight away from the centre of the rifle. In practical use, that adjustable AR layout is one of the CM070's strongest points. It doesn't take long to find a comfortable setting, and once you do, the rifle comes onto target without feeling like you're wrestling a telegraph pole.
Inside is a Version 2 gearbox with reinforced components aimed at supporting the rifle's quoted performance of approximately 400 FPS and 1.49 joules. CYMA specifies an M120 spring, steel gears running on 8mm steel sliding bearings, a directional piston head, bearing-equipped piston components, reinforced cylinder head and a Hi-Speed motor. The hop-up chamber follows Guarder and Tokyo Marui-compatible standards according to the supplied specification. For players who like knowing what's underneath the bodywork, there's considerably more information here than the usual vague promise of "upgraded internals".
The CM070 offers both single-shot and full-auto firing modes and feeds from an included 380-round polymer high-cap magazine. That capacity gives you plenty of ammunition for a typical game without making the magazine excessively bulky. Semi-auto works nicely when picking shots at medium distances, while full-auto provides the familiar AEG experience where site rules permit it. The rifle is quoted at around 400 FPS, so checking your local site's velocity and energy limits before skirmishing is important. Some UK sites operate lower limits for standard full-auto AEGs.
Power is supplied by the included 9.6V 1200mAh NiMH battery using a small Tamiya connector, and a battery charger is also provided. That makes the package convenient for somebody moving into their first serious electric airsoft rifle, since the basic power equipment is already in the box. The combination of a Hi-Speed motor, Version 2 gearbox and rechargeable battery gives the CM070 the familiar point-and-shoot convenience that makes an Airsoft AEG so easy to live with during a game day. Charge up, fill the high-cap and you're ready to get stuck in.
Overall, the CYMA CM070 MK18 is an interesting option for players wanting a compact black AR-style airsoft assault rifle with a strong metal build and useful internal specification. The aluminium receivers and handguard provide the reassuring feel you'd expect when picking it up, while the folding sights, adjustable stock, ambidextrous controls and generous rail space make it easy to configure around your own kit. Throw in the reinforced Version 2 gearbox, adjustable hop-up, 380-round magazine and included battery setup, and the CM070 feels like a well-rounded Airsoft AEG rather than something built purely to look good on the rack.
