Description
King Arms PDW 9mm SBR Long Airsoft AEG Rifle with Adjustable Stock in Black
The King Arms PDW 9mm SBR Long Airsoft AEG Rifle in Black is a compact electric platform that blends the familiar handling of an AR-style airsoft rifle with the slimmer proportions of a 9mm sub machine gun. At 621mm in its shortest configuration and up to 718mm with the stock extended, it's particularly well suited to CQB and indoor airsoft sites where a full-length assault rifle can quickly become awkward. King Arms has also kept the weight down to approximately 1920g by combining a nylon fibre receiver with metal components. The result feels quick in the hands without becoming flimsy or insubstantial. Short rifle, plenty going on underneath.
Up front, the PDW 9mm SBR Long comes with King Arms' newly designed suppressor already fitted, giving the rifle a clean, purposeful profile. Behind that sits a metal outer barrel protecting a 195mm precision 6.05mm inner barrel. That slightly longer inner barrel distinguishes this Long configuration while still keeping the complete airsoft gun remarkably compact. An adjustable hop-up allows you to tune the backspin applied to your 6mm BBs, helping achieve a flatter trajectory and more consistent usable range. With a listed velocity of approximately 330 FPS, the rifle sits in familiar AEG territory, although every airsoft gun should still be chronographed before play to confirm its actual output against your site's limits.
King Arms includes foldable front and rear sights, so you've got a usable aiming system from the moment the rifle is set up. Fold them into position when you want to run traditional iron sights or tuck them away when fitting a compatible optic. For a CQB Airsoft AEG, that flexibility makes plenty of sense. A small red dot can complement a short PDW extremely well, but having backup sights already fitted means an optic isn't something you need to buy on day one. Sometimes it's better to play a few games first and work out what you actually need rather than bolting half the accessories catalogue onto the rifle before its first skirmish.
The nylon fibre receiver plays a major part in the PDW's 1920g weight, while the metal outer barrel and internal components provide reinforcement in key areas. In the hands, that translates into an airsoft rifle that should be particularly comfortable when repeatedly transitioning between targets or changing shoulders around cover. The ergonomic pistol grip adds to that handling and features interchangeable inserts, allowing the grip to be adapted around personal preference. It's a relatively small feature on paper, but grip shape matters when you're holding an AEG for hours rather than five minutes in the safe zone.
Internally, the King Arms PDW 9mm SBR Long uses a 7mm bearing metal gearbox with a metal spring guide. A MOSFET trigger system forms part of the electrical setup, giving the rifle more modern electronic management than a basic mechanical AEG configuration and helping with trigger response and electrical efficiency. You still get the straightforward Safe, Semi-Auto and Full-Auto fire modes you'd expect from this style of electric airsoft gun. For indoor sites where semi-auto is commonly required, the compact dimensions and responsive electronic setup make particularly good sense. When full-auto is permitted, that option is sitting there on the selector too.
Another useful internal feature is the quick-change spring system. Traditional AEG spring changes can involve considerably more gearbox surgery than most players fancy doing on a Sunday evening, so easier spring access is always welcome. The system makes changing the main spring less involved when adjustment is required, although any resulting power change should always be checked with a chronograph before the rifle is used. Combined with the adjustable hop-up and MOSFET-equipped gearbox, it gives the PDW a useful amount of configuration beneath what is otherwise a refreshingly straightforward exterior.
Rather than using conventional M4 magazines, this airsoft PDW is compatible with Marui-style MP5 magazines. The slimmer magazine gives the rifle its distinctive 9mm appearance and makes the lower receiver look much more like a purpose-built PDW or airsoft sub machine gun than a shortened assault rifle. A 100-round MP5-style magazine is supplied, providing practical skirmish capacity without a bulky high-cap hanging underneath. King Arms has also fitted an ambidextrous magazine release, making reloads accessible from either side. Left-handed players will appreciate it immediately, while right-handed players may discover how handy ambidextrous controls become when shooting around the opposite side of cover.
At the rear is a seven-position adjustable tactical stock, allowing the overall length to be changed between approximately 621mm and 718mm. Run it short when squeezing through doorways and tight corridors, then extend it when you want a more conventional shoulder position. Seven positions give you plenty of room to find a comfortable setting around body armour, chest rigs or heavier clothing. The stock also provides battery storage, keeping the power source neatly contained at the back of the rifle. Do note that a battery and charger are not supplied with this Airsoft AEG, so compatible examples will need to be purchased separately if you don't already have suitable equipment.
The King Arms PDW 9mm SBR Long makes a lot of sense for players who want the agility of an airsoft sub machine gun without moving too far away from familiar rifle ergonomics. Its 195mm inner barrel, adjustable hop-up, 7mm bearing metal gearbox, MOSFET and quick-change spring system provide a solid technical foundation, while the 1920g weight and adjustable stock keep the rifle comfortable and manoeuvrable. MP5 magazine compatibility adds a bit of character as well. For CQB, indoor skirmishing or simply building a lightweight Airsoft AEG setup, this compact black PDW manages to pack plenty into a surprisingly small footprint.
