G&G Armament - ARP 9 2.0 Combat Machine Airsoft AEG Rifle with Adjustable PDW Stock in Black (ETU + MOSFET)
The G&G Armament ARP 9 2.0 Combat Machine takes the familiar ARP formula and keeps its priorities refreshingly simple: short, light and responsive. Measuring just 597.8mm overall and weighing approximately 1964g, this compact Airsoft AEG feels naturally suited to CQB sites, indoor arenas and games where you're constantly working through doorways and around tight cover. It has the proportions of a modern PDW-style airsoft sub machine gun combined with familiar AR-style ergonomics, so there's very little adjustment needed when you first pick it up. Point it, shoulder it, move. That's where the ARP 9 2.0 starts making sense.
At the front sits a lightweight 7-inch aluminium M-LOK handguard. It's short enough to maintain the compact profile of the airsoft gun while still providing useful mounting positions for a torch, foregrip or other M-LOK accessories. Along the top, G&G has fitted a 20mm Picatinny flat-top rail for adding a red-dot sight or another compatible optic. More importantly, the short front end keeps the rifle's weight close to your body. Spend an afternoon repeatedly bringing a longer rifle up around corners and you'll understand why that matters. The ARP feels more like pointing with your hands than steering a broomstick through a doorway.
The receiver is made from reinforced polymer with metal components, helping G&G hold the overall weight down to 1964g. That's a sensible choice on a compact CQB airsoft rifle where low weight is part of the attraction. The polymer construction doesn't leave the ARP 9 2.0 feeling like a toy; instead, it makes the platform noticeably easier to manoeuvre during longer games. Ambidextrous fire selector controls are another practical addition. They're useful for left-handed players, obviously, but they're equally handy when switching shoulders to work around the opposite side of cover. Rather than twisting yourself into some strange tactical pretzel, you can simply swap shoulders and carry on.
Inside, the ARP 9 2.0 uses G&G's established Version 2 gearbox equipped with 8mm bushings. The mechanical package is paired with an Electronic Trigger Unit and MOSFET, giving this Airsoft AEG a much more modern firing system than a straightforward mechanical trigger setup. The ETU electronically registers the trigger input, which helps give the rifle the responsive character you want from a short CQB platform, while the MOSFET handles the electrical side of the firing circuit. Fast semi-auto follow-up shots are a big part of close-range airsoft, and this electronic setup complements the ARP's lightweight handling particularly well.
You aren't restricted to basic semi and full-auto operation either. The G&G ETU provides safe, semi-auto and full-auto firing alongside a programmable 3-round burst mode. That burst setting can be surprisingly useful when you want a short, controlled string of BBs without holding the trigger down. Three-round burst also fits the personality of this compact electric airsoft rifle rather nicely. A quick squeeze, three shots, back behind cover. Simple. Having the functionality built into the rifle means there's no immediate need to start opening the gearbox and fitting aftermarket electronics just to gain an additional firing mode.
The ARP 9 2.0 uses a 168mm inner barrel together with an adjustable hop-up system. On paper, 168mm might look short next to a full-length assault rifle, but barrel length alone doesn't determine how useful an airsoft gun will be. The adjustable hop allows you to tune the backspin applied to your BBs, helping achieve a flatter and more stable flight path when properly set up with suitable ammunition. In practical use, that's important because the ARP isn't limited to shooting across tiny rooms. Get the hop set properly and this little PDW can still hold its own when the game spills out into more open areas. Small package, surprisingly useful reach.
Feeding is handled by the distinctive ARP9 magazine system, with a 170-round magazine supplied with the rifle. It provides a useful middle ground between constantly changing low-cap magazines and hanging an enormous magazine underneath a deliberately compact platform. The magazine also supports G&G's electronic magazine cutoff system. At the rear, meanwhile, you'll find the GOS-V9 adjustable PDW stock with an integrated battery compartment. Collapsed, it keeps the overall package short and tidy for close work; extended, it provides a more conventional shoulder position for steady shooting. Being able to adjust the stock also makes it easier to accommodate different arm lengths, load-bearing equipment and playing styles.
Put everything together and the G&G ARP 9 2.0 Combat Machine is a cracking little Airsoft AEG for players who value manoeuvrability over unnecessary length. The combination of its 597.8mm overall size, 1964g weight, 7-inch aluminium M-LOK handguard and adjustable PDW stock makes it particularly enjoyable in fast CQB environments. Then you've got the Version 2 gearbox, 8mm bushings, ETU, MOSFET and programmable burst mode working underneath. It's a well-thought-out mixture of practical externals and useful electronics rather than a rifle covered in features simply for the sake of filling a specification sheet.
There's plenty of scope for personalisation too. A compact red dot and weapon light would make a very natural CQB setup, while the M-LOK handguard leaves room for a small foregrip if that's how you prefer to index the front end. Personally, I'd resist the temptation to cover every available mounting point with accessories; one of the ARP 9 2.0's biggest strengths is how light and uncomplicated it feels. Keep that advantage and you've got a nimble airsoft rifle that's easy to carry, quick to shoulder and great fun when a game gets fast and messy. Sometimes less really is more.
