Description

G&G TR16 GMS Mk III 10.5" GT Advanced AEG Airsoft Rifle With ETU + MOSFET in Black

The G&G TR16 GMS Mk III 10.5" GT Advanced AEG is a modern 416 / AR-style airsoft rifle made for players who like familiar controls, solid metal externals and useful electronics without loading the platform with unnecessary gimmicks. At approximately 2.9kg, it has that reassuring weight you expect when picking up a full-size airsoft gun, yet it remains manageable enough for a full day on site. Overall length runs from roughly 75cm with the stock collapsed to 84cm extended, making it a versatile size for moving between woodland paths, barricades and tighter indoor spaces. It feels substantial in the hands without becoming a boat anchor by lunchtime.

Starting at the business end, the TR16 uses a steel flash hider mounted to a 14mm CCW male threaded outer barrel. Remove the flash hider and that common thread gives you plenty of choice when fitting a compatible airsoft tracer unit or suppressor. The alloy outer barrel sits inside an aluminium M-LOK handguard, giving the front of this Airsoft AEG a clean, modern appearance while keeping accessory mounting flexible. M-LOK slots allow grips and other compatible equipment to be positioned where you actually need them rather than covering the rifle in unused rail. There is also conventional 20mm RIS/RAS mounting space and a 20mm receiver rail for optics and other accessories.

The construction strikes a sensible balance between durability and weight. The main receiver, buffer tube and outer barrel use alloy, while steel appears on hard-wearing components including the flash hider, QD sling points, castle nut, dust cover, iron sights, screws and bolts. G&G has used polymer for the textured ergonomic pistol grip and six-position sliding stock. The stock ends in a rubber butt plate, helping it sit securely against clothing, plate carriers and chest rigs. Adjusting the stock takes seconds, so moving from a compact CQB setup to a longer, steadier shooting position feels natural rather than fiddly.

Anyone accustomed to an AR-style assault rifle should settle into the controls quickly. Both the magazine release and fire selector are ambidextrous, backed up by an ambidextrous rear sling plate and multiple sling mounting options around the rifle. The extended charging handle provides access to the adjustable HOP-up, with the mock bolt locking open so you can get to the rotary adjustment through the ejection port. Rotary HOP units are a personal favourite on an electric airsoft rifle like this because small adjustments are easy to make and repeat. No poking around with a tiny lever while wearing gloves. G&G suggests 0.25g BBs, giving you a sensible starting point when setting the HOP for skirmish use.

Inside, things get more interesting. The G&G TR16 GMS Mk III uses a V2 gearbox with a quick-change spring arrangement, electronic trigger unit and MOSFET setup. Safe, Semi Automatic and Full Automatic firing modes cover the familiar AEG basics, while the electronic trigger provides a more modern control system than old-school mechanical trigger contacts. The gearbox is rear wired and fitted with a Deans connector, with the rifle specified for an 11.1V Li-Po battery. For regular players, that combination makes a lot of sense: Deans is compact and efficient, while the electronic setup suits the faster response expected from a contemporary Airsoft AEG.

Accuracy is supported by a 280mm long, 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel working alongside the adjustable rotary HOP-up. With 0.20g BBs, the rifle is listed at approximately 335fps with a tolerance of ±10%. In practical terms, the 10.5/11-inch front-end format gives the TR16 a nice middle ground. It is short enough to swing around cover without feeling like you are steering a fishing rod through a doorway, but it still has enough front-end length to feel planted when taking longer shots outdoors. As with any airsoft gun, always chrono it with the ammunition specified by your site before play rather than assuming every venue operates the same limits.

Feeding the rifle is an approximately 120-round AEG magazine. That medium-capacity setup suits the TR16 nicely, avoiding the winding wheel and BB rattle associated with traditional high-cap magazines. Up top, rotary drum-style iron sights mean you can comfortably run the airsoft rifle in a straightforward configuration from the start, then add an optic later if that suits your setup. Front and rear QD sling points, the ambidextrous sling plate and additional stock and handguard mounting possibilities also make it easy to experiment with one-point or two-point sling arrangements.

Put everything together and the G&G TR16 GMS Mk III is a well-rounded electric airsoft assault rifle for players who appreciate the chunky 416-inspired profile but still want modern AR ergonomics. The combination of aluminium M-LOK furniture, alloy receiver, ambidextrous controls, electronic trigger system, MOSFET, quick-change V2 gearbox and 11.1V Li-Po compatibility gives it a specification that makes sense on an actual skirmish field, not merely on a feature sheet. It has enough going on internally to keep experienced players interested while remaining approachable for someone stepping up to a more advanced AEG platform. Clean, practical and nicely balanced. Sometimes that's exactly what you want.
