Made by WE Tech, this custom GBB pistol uses an aluminium alloy construction alongside fibre-strengthened polymer components, giving it a substantial feel without abandoning the practical qualities needed for regular skirmishing. The all-black finish is arguably the stealthiest version of the GALAXY, allowing the unusual cylindrical upper, rear charging handle and custom controls to do the talking. The lower frame is based around the familiar 1911 format, so despite that unconventional appearance, the GALAXY doesn't feel completely alien when you first wrap your hand around it. At approximately 1250g, this is quite a hefty airsoft pistol. There's plenty of reassuring mass in the hand, and it feels planted when you're moving between targets. It's a small feature that can make the pistol considerably more intuitive to aim under typical skirmish conditions.

The upper assembly is where this airsoft gun really breaks away from traditional 1911 styling. Rather than copying the familiar full-length M1911 slide profile, the WE GALAXY uses a cylindrical upper body with a charging handle positioned at the rear. Metal construction gives the upper a solid feel and complements the Green Gas blowback system nicely. The charging handle is also easy to manipulate, adding another distinctive tactile element to the pistol. In all-black, the design looks particularly purposeful – still unconventional, but a little less shouty than some of the brighter GALAXY colour combinations.

The controls continue the custom theme. A blade-style trigger gives the pistol a contemporary competition look, while the enlarged magazine catch is easy to locate when you're working quickly or wearing gloves. The supplied metal Green Gas magazine has a listed capacity of 16+1 rounds, providing enough ammunition for typical pistol engagements while keeping the familiar gas-magazine experience. Spare magazines are well worth considering for skirmishing; once a CQB game gets lively, sixteen BBs have an amusing habit of disappearing considerably faster than expected.

Accessory mounting is another strong point. The GALAXY provides two 22mm tactical rail positions, including useful under-barrel rail space for compatible pistol lights and other suitable accessories. That gives this GBB pistol far more configuration potential than a traditional military-style 1911 airsoft handgun. Run it completely clean and you've got a distinctive custom sidearm, or build it up with a light and suitable muzzle accessory for a dedicated indoor setup. There's enough flexibility here to put your own stamp on the pistol without needing to replace half of it first.

Inside, the WE Tech GALAXY uses a fixed hop-up setup and is designed around standard 6mm airsoft BBs, with 0.20g ammunition listed as the recommended starting weight. Muzzle velocity comes in at approximately 310 FPS, although Green Gas pressure and ambient temperature will naturally influence real-world figures. The 108mm barrel provides a sensible length for an airsoft handgun of this size, while the overall pistol measures approximately 220mm. For skirmish use, the combination gives you a compact enough package for close engagements without feeling undersized when you're aiming across a larger room or outdoor position.

Being a gas blowback BB pistol, the GALAXY provides the movement and mechanical feedback that makes Green Gas sidearms so enjoyable to shoot. Each trigger pull is accompanied by the action cycling, giving the pistol much more character than a basic non-blowback design. The pistol is also field-strippable, making routine inspection, cleaning and lubrication easier. That's worth remembering if you're going to use it regularly. GBB pistols are a little like old performance cars – give them sensible maintenance and they'll generally reward you with a much happier experience.
